Cinematography for a video art by Orit Adar Bachar - "Matissa".
Being a filmed reenactment of the Matisse masterpiece "Harmony in Red" (1908) my challenge as a DOP was not only to capture the colors and the tone of the Matisse original but also, using lighting and depth of field, to convey the flattened perspective of the painting.

The false perspective stage and the flattened props were built especially for the work, giving room for the actress to breathe life into the character and convey a small scene in context with the painting and its artist.
